Sōzan was one of the artists hired by the influential publisher Shōzaburō Watanabe for whom he designed more than sixty woodblock prints of flowers and (or) birds in the early 1900s. Two notable features of these prints are, first, the diversity of species chosen for depiction and, second, the wide range of print sizes. The fifteen prints in this gallery illustrate these two notable features. Click on a picture to enlarge it. To see more prints by Sōzan click here (gallery 2) and here (Sōzan Itō web site).
